The New PR Five Steps to a Press Release that Really Sells
THE NEW PR: FIVE STEPS TO A PRESS RELEASE THAT REALLY SELLS I recently attended a webinar featuring David Meerman Scott, author of the WebInkNow blog and World Wide Rave, the latest book on creating effective social media content that works. During the webinar, an interesting question popped up in the QA section: Whatââ¬â¢s the purpose of a press release ââ¬â and how can it be used effectively? Scott suggested taking a new approach: instead of writing press releases that target media, why not target your buyers, the people that really matter to your bottom line? Journalists donââ¬â¢t sit around, waiting for your press release to float across their desks before they decide what they want to write about. If they want to write about you, theyââ¬â¢ll search you out. Reaching out to journalists is important, but itââ¬â¢s not as important as reaching your clients. So hereââ¬â¢s where we get into the new PR: instead of using your press release to grab the attention of journalists ââ¬â who may or may not care about you ââ¬â why not use your press release to sell? Iââ¬â¢ve put together five steps here to target your press releases to potential clients and journalists alike: 1. Put it in the correct form. Thereââ¬â¢s a right way and a wrong way to write press releases. All of them need a title, a date, a city, and valid contact information (thatââ¬â¢s an email address and a phone number). 2. Get rid of the nonsense. Remember, youââ¬â¢re writing for potential buyers, not necessarily ââ¬Å"the media.â⬠Use language that your target audience would use to describe your business or product. For example, do you know a whole lot of people who would describe Coca Cola as a ââ¬Å"purveyor of artificially sweetened beveragesâ⬠? Probably not Coca Cola is a soft drink company. Forget fancy words like ââ¬Å"integral solutions. Speak the language your buyers speak. Once you think youââ¬â¢ve got that down, check out David Meerman Scottââ¬â¢s top 25 gobbledygook press release phrases. If you have any in your press release, delete them ââ¬â pronto. 3. Optimize your press release. This goes hand-in-hand with No. 2. Make sure your press release is keyword rich, with phrases that can be easily searched on Google (youââ¬â¢ll want keyword-rich content for step No. 5 ââ¬â read on). To get the best optimization on your press release, try to include at least two or three relevant links to different websites, either in the body or at the bottom of your press release. For example, if you write a press release about an award your company just won, include links to the website of the institution that gave you the award. These links are important to search engines, placing your press release higher in rankings. But only include links to quality, authoritative sites; linking to spammy sites will hurt your search engine ranking. 4. Put your press release to the test. Check out this awesome tool, courtesy of David Meerman Scott: The Gobbledygook Grader. All you need to do is cut and paste your press release, and the Gobbledygook Grader will automatically put your press release to the test, giving it a grade between 1 and 100. It automatically checks for any nonsense, filler phrases you may have missed, as well as making sure your press release is fully optimized. 5. Get it out on the web. Use a trusted press release distribution site, like PRWeb. This is important, because once your press release is on a distribution site, itââ¬â¢s guaranteed to hit Google, Yahoo, and other search engines. That means anyone who types in a keyword ââ¬â a potential buyer or client ââ¬â can access your press release. And the information there might just catch their attention, and then theyââ¬â¢ll pass is on to a friend â⬠¦ and eventually you could have a viral press release, or a phone ringing off the hook with new clients. And you know what? Journalists use search engines too ââ¬â so using a distribution site is sure to get you the largest cross section of attention for your press release. Questions? Iââ¬â¢m always here to help!

To what extent was the Crimean War (1853 â⬠1856) ââ¬Ëdisastrously planned and poorly executedââ¬â¢ (Economist 2014) The WritePass Journal
To what extent was the Crimean War (1853 ââ¬â 1856) ââ¬Ëdisastrously planned and poorly executedââ¬â¢ (Economist 2014) Introduction To what extent was the Crimean War (1853 ââ¬â 1856) ââ¬Ëdisastrously planned and poorly executedââ¬â¢ (Economist 2014) ; Seton-Watson 1988). The conflict did have important long-term implication insofar as it permanently weakened the position of Tsarist Russia, and saw the ascendency of the France as the preeminent power in Europe. It therefore saw the end of the Concert of Europe, the balance of power that had existed since the Congress of Vienna in 1815 (Bloy 2002a, 2002b). In conclusion, the Crimean War was both poorly planned and poorly executed. This essay has outlined the numerous strategic, tactical, and logistical failures perpetrated by all sides, but especially by the Allies and Britain in particular. However, as important as these moments were in defining the nature of the conflict and solidifying its reputation, it was problematic from the outset. As Clough (1964: 917) puts it: ââ¬Ëit was not the result of a calculated plan, nor even of hasty last-minute decisions made under stress. It was the consequence of more than two years of fatal blundering in slow-motion by inept statesmen who had months to reflect upon the actions they took.ââ¬â¢ Ultimately, while there are many mitigating factors, moments of triumph, and cases of heroism and coordination ââ¬â especially in the medical sphere ââ¬â this is a reputation well-deserved. How Germany's hospitality has changed during the olympics games in Essay
How Germany's hospitality has changed during the olympics games in 1936 compared to the WM in 2006 - Essay Example Further, the German committee show cased their construction as well as development plans pertaining how the city of Berlin would enhance the hosting of the games. Germany would also have all facilities of sports regulation for the competitions in entirety. While the IOC called in on other cities like Barcelona, in 1931, the German committee persistently made a follow up. They made sure that they had straightened all the nitty-gritty to heighten all the chances of their nationââ¬â¢s hosting the 1936 Olympics. For instance, they insisted on their eligibility since the 1916 chance had been cancelled. By the vote magnitude, Berlin surpassed Barcelona by 27 votes of the 59 votes cast. Therefore, the eleventh summer Olympicsââ¬â¢ hosting right went to Berlin on May 13, 1931 subsequent to the IOC concluding a straw poll from the delegates present then. They later announced their verdict globally. By this award, IOC portrayed that Germany had a good reputation as regards the world community of nations. Later, Germany won another right where they would play host to the fourth winter Olympics of 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. (Vercamer and Pipes, 2009) This is a study set out to discuss both the 1936 Olympic Games held in Germany and the 2006 Weltmeisterchaft (WM) games. Note that Weltmeisterchaft is German for world cup. These are going to be compared to each other and more specifically there will be a vivid answer to be provided to the study question. The study question is, ââ¬Å"Which were the impacts of the 1936 Olympic games to the German hospitality to other countries compared to the 2006 world cup effects on the same?â⬠The Olympic Games in Berlin held in the year 1936 ran in a flawless manner and there were no significant predicaments. The events of athletics as well as the ceremonies of medal awarding were coupled by a vast number of social and cultural events. The

Good Deed Report for senior managers Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Good Deed Report for senior managers - Essay Example If there is proper co-ordination among the employees, the team work will definitely result in building a healthy work environment. The project leader at one of the teams in my organization is kind towards his employees and his teammates. He generally lends a helping hand to the employees who find it difficult to cope up with their work. During the completion of a project, the members in the team had to work day and night. The employees worked hard to finish the project in time. Though most of them were extremely skilled, they could not manage the situation. In this situation one of the other team was also on the verge of completing their project. Since I was team leader of that project and I was not well, the team members were suffering and they were unable to manage the situation. (Daft, 2009). The project leader of the first team helped my team by lending them a helping hand at the time of grief. Though there were sufficient team members, they found it difficult to cope up with the situation. The project leader helped them in completing the project on the stipulated time. Though this may seem to be a minor act of kindness and assistance, the attitude of helping others is a commendable gesture. In the letter to the supervisor, I would like to include the actions taken by the project leader and his effort in assisting the team to complete the assigned task. Due to his timely help, the team to complete the task and could manage the situation in a better way. The project leader worked on both the teams, by managing his time, he could finish the projects on time. This action is beyond the call of duty of the project leader. The responsibility of any project manager or leader is to assist his team members and work with them. But this person has managed to help the members of the other team and this fetched him a great name. The management must recognize his

Romeo and Juliet â⬠Literary Paragraph Essay Example for Free
Romeo and Juliet ââ¬â Literary Paragraph Essay In Romeo and Juliet, each character has a specific role and for the main character, Romeo, seems to be the one who changes the most. Romeo changes throughout the play as he is constantly become mature. As Romeoââ¬â¢s thoughts, feelings and actions have revealed his great changes among all other characters. According to the play, Romeo presented three palpable changes as the followings, he gets over Rosaline right after meeting Juliet, his hatred towards Tybalt changes into love back and forth, and he forgets about his desire to die right after receiving the message from Nurse. These changes made Romeoââ¬â¢s character even more important and appealing, which presented the love, hatred and violence of play. Firstly, Romeo changes the most because he quickly gets over Rosaline right after meeting Juliet in the first Act. Romeo is first presented as a lovesick boy who is greatly depressed about Rosalineââ¬â¢s refusals. But then, after Romeo encounters Juliet in the Capuletââ¬â¢s party, he apparently forgets about Rosaline and falls in love with Juliet. Meanwhile his mood changes from vulnerable to excited and confident, this has shown that Romeo is quite fickle and immature in love. For example, in the play when Romeo first sees Rosaline in the party he mutters ââ¬Å"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!/ For I neââ¬â¢er saw true beauty till this night.â⬠(I. v. 52-53). He completely forgets about Rosaline that he loved so much before and how fast he falls in love with Juliet at first sight. Also, in the play when Romeo leaves Julietââ¬â¢s balcony to Friar Lawrence place, he informs Friar Lawrence about his plan for marring Juliet, ââ¬Å"With Rosaline, my ghostly father? No!/ I have forgot that name, and that name woe.â⬠(II. iii. 46-47). Romeo even forgets Rosalineââ¬â¢s name with the sorrow she brings him. Indeed, Romeo is becoming positive and enthusiastic about love again while he gets over Rosaline after meeting Juliet. Soon, Romeoââ¬â¢s love changes to hatred easily. Secondly, Romeo changes the most as his hatred towards Tybalt changes into love back and forth. Regarding Romeo marries Juliet and his love grows deeper than anyone, he becomes more pleasing in front of Julietââ¬â¢s cousin, Tybalt. For example, although Tybalt tries to draw Romeo into a fight, Romeo convinces him that he loves him as he has secretly become one of his family members by marrying Juliet, ââ¬Å"Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee,/ Doth much excuse the appertaining rage/ To such greeting. Villain am I none;/ Therefore farewell; I see you donââ¬â¢t really know me.â⬠(III. I. 58-61). Since Romeo marries Juliet, he loves Tybalt as a family of Julietââ¬â¢s and that helps him overcome the anger he should really feels from Tybaltââ¬â¢s insults. However, Tybalt kills Mercutio ultimately and that makes Romeo become really angry. Therefore, Romeoââ¬â¢s hatred exceeds his love towards Tybalt again as he rea lizes Mercutio dies and he declared, Away to heaven, respective lenity, And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now! Now, Tybalt, take the ââ¬Å"villainâ⬠back again That late thou gavââ¬â¢st me; for Mercutioââ¬â¢s soul Is but a little way above our heads, Staying for thine to keep him company. Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him.â⬠(III. i. 199-126). Romeo loses his temper and looks for revenge for his friend, Mercutio. After he killed Tybalt, he is banished from Verona by Prince Escalus. In this situation, he has completely changed his love to hatred and this also portrayed Romeoââ¬â¢s impulsive and bad temper character. Therefore, Romeoââ¬â¢s hatred towards Tybalt changes into love back and forth made him the character who changes the most throughout the play. Yet his banishment leads him to a great emotion change afterwards. Lastly, nevertheless Romeo changes from desiring of death into being statisfy and forgets about his mind after receiving Nurseââ¬â¢s message. Thus Romeo realizes banishment might keeps him and Juliet apart from each other, he wishes to be dead instead and he tries to stab himself. Moreover, in the play when Nurse brings Julietââ¬â¢s ring to Friar Lawrenceââ¬â¢s place for Romeo, Romeo forgets about the grief and tears from recieving banishment and becomes comforted right away. ââ¬Å"How well my comfort is revivââ¬â¢d by thisâ⬠(III. iii. 169) Romeo is greatly satisfied by the ring that Nurse gave him. In addition, in the novel play when Friar Lawrence suggests Romeo should do what his marriage decrees him to do, to climb to her room to comfort her and stays with her the night, Romeo revived and being confident again. Romeo says ââ¬Å" But that a joy past joy calls out on me,/ It were a grief, so brief to part with thee.â⬠(III. iii. 177-178), meaning that this idea, this joy surpasses all any other happiness, which would be sad if he misses and leaves Juliet so quickly. From this scene, capricious of Romeoââ¬â¢s character is seen once again, also it illustrated his great emotion change in the play. For this reason, Romeo changes the most throughout the play. In conclusion, no doubt that the character who changes the most throughout the play Romeo and Juliet is Romeo because of his great emotional and physical changes from getting over Rosaline right after meeting Juliet, changing his hatred into love towards Tybalt back and forth, and forgetting about his desire to die right after receiving the message from Nurse. Believing that this is also how Romeo as a main character in a romantic and tragic play is developed, becoming a strong man from being a ââ¬Å"lostâ⬠man, to a revived man all by love and passion.

Essay --
There are two different views on the connection that is found between consumption and environmental policy. The first major connection is the ignorance of buying something that at first seems like it will help out people in so many ways, but ends up hurting the environment in the long run after changes and a changing culture, cars for example (Book Review: The Shadow of Consumption, 1). The other connection that could be made is the connection between researching products and how they are produced and what the companies do with the byproduct after the product has been made. This connection can seem like a strong connection than the ignorant connect because there is a whole other level of research and understanding that goes into understanding the environment and the policies that are changed by the production process. Environmental and energy policies can play a significant yet small role in the incrementalism in policy making. Environmental policies and new plans often cost money and time that the government cannot fully give to a specific area that may be affected. Charles Lindblom discusses that how the best solution will not always be selected, but that incrementalism is common for larger policies that have a high level of salience and a low level of conflict, since these are more easy to agree upon and change quickly, example airline safety. Environmental policies have a low level and salience and a low level of conflict which causes the policies to get pushed back and often reviewed and not changed because of funding that can be offered. The connection that is created between incrementalism and environmental policy has been changed and improved over time but the actual changes are not implemented because of the prio... ...nges that may have once been a regulation, but that still effects the environment. Other larger plants and companies are beginning to change the way that they take care of certain waste products because they have been brought into the public light and some groups have begun to campaign against the larger companies that are dealing with the regulations. The environmental push that is being created is affected by the ââ¬Ërace to the bottomâ⬠even though regulations may be decreased the problem is already out in the public so it seems that since there used to be such stringent laws. The increased competition that can be created by the companies which are similar plays into interest groups. State policies are changing the way that larger companies are dealing with the environment as well as aiding in the improving the environment after there has been major damage done.

Various Forms of Organizations
YOU DECIDE PAPER 2 Part I:à Discuss the various forms of organization that are available to Penelope, Mark and John The various forms of organization available to Penelope, Mark and John are: GENERAL PARTNERSHIPS: A general partnership is a business organization formed when 2 or more individuals or entities form a business for profit. All partners share in the management and in the profits and decide on matters of ordinary business operations by majority of the partners or by percentage ownership of each partner. Each partner is liable for all business debts and bears responsibility for the actions of the other partners. Each partner reports partnership income on their individual tax return. A partnership dissolves on the death or withdrawal of a partner unless the partnership agreement provides otherwise. Partnerships are relatively easy and inexpensive to form and require few ongoing formalities. LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY: A limited liability company is a new and flexible busines s organization of one or more owners that offers the advantages of liability protection with the simplicity of a partnership, i. e. partners are not liable for business debts. Each partner reports business income on their individual tax return. LLCs may dissolve on the death or withdrawal of an owner depending on state law. An LLC is not appropriate for businesses seeking to become public or raise capital. LLCs require few ongoing formalities but usually require periodic filings with the state and also require annual fees. LLCs are more expensive to form than partnerships. CORPORATIONS: A corporation is a legal entity that has most of the rights and duties of a natural person but with perpetual life and limited liability.Shareholders of a corporation appoint a board of directors and the board of directors appoints the officers for the corporation, who have the authority to manage the day-to-day operations of the corporation. Shareholders are generally liable for the amount of their i nvestment in corporate stock. A corporation pays its own taxes and shareholders pay tax on their dividends. However, in a subchapter S corporation, shareholders report their share of corporate profit or loss in their individual tax return. The corporation is its own legal entity and can survive the death of owners, partners and shareholders.A corporation is the best entity for eventual public companies. Corporations can raise capital through the sale of securities and can transfer ownership through the transfer of securities. Corporations require annual meetings and require owners and directors to observe certain formalities. Corporations are more expensive to form than partnerships and sole proprietorships. Corporations require periodic filings with the state and also require annual fees. (COMMON FORMS OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONà ââ¬â http://www. tulsascore. org/organization. tml) PARTNERSHIPS: Partnerships are unincorporated businesses. Like corporations, partnerships are sepa rate entities from the shareholders. Unlike corporations, partnerships must have at least one General Partner who assumes unlimited liability for the business. Partnerships must have at least two shareholders. Partnerships distribute all profits and losses to their shareholders without regard for any profits retained by the business for cash flow purposes. (LLCs are taxed as partnerships, unless they choose to be taxed as corporations. of à organization you believe will be best and be sure to explain the reasoning for your choice. In my opinion, a Limited Liability Company would be the best choice for them to form as it provides easy management and ââ¬Å"pass-throughâ⬠taxation (profits and losses are added to the owner(s) personal tax returns) like a Sole Proprietorship/Partnership, with the liability protection of a Corporation. Like a corporation, it is a separate legal entity; unlike a corporation, there is no stock and there are fewer formalities. The owners of an LLC ar e called ââ¬Å"Membersâ⬠instead of ââ¬Å"Shareholdersâ⬠. So in essence, itââ¬â¢s a like a corporation, with less complicated taxation and stock formalities. The heart of a Limited Liability Company is known as the ââ¬Å"Operating Agreementâ⬠. This document sets the rules for operating the company and can be modified as the business grows and changes. Operating an LLC is less formal than a corporation, usually only requiring an Annual Membersââ¬â¢ Meeting and Membersââ¬â¢ agreeing to changes of the Operating Agreement and other major company decisions.Provides the liability protection of a corporation without the corporate formalities (Board meetings, Shareholder meetings, minutes, etc. ) and extra levels of management (Shareholders, Directors, Officers). Taxed the same as a sole proprietorship (1 Member LLC) or partnership (2 or more Members). (Which Type of Business Entity to Choose? http://www. mynewcompany. com/entity. htm) Part III:à Discuss the ta x consequences of contributing cash, property and/or services to the new entity. Contributions of appreciated property to an LLC, however, are generally tax free and there is no ownership or control requirement. There are ordinarily no federal income tax consequences when a person contributes property or services to an LLC, but there are some exceptions to this rule that you should keep in mind when planning for contributions by new or existing members of LLCs. Under IRC à §721(a), a contribution of property to an LLC is generally tax free to both the contributor and the LLC. There is no 80 percent control requirement to obtain tax-free treatment for a contribution to an entity taxed as a partnership as there is for a contribution to a corporation under IRC à §351.Therefore, a contribution of property to an LLC will be tax free even if the contributor obtains only a relatively small interest in the LLC in exchange. Part IV:à Discuss, in detail, how this entity is taxed (if at al l) and what filing requirements it has with the IRS Limited liability companies that are subject to the partnership tax rules are not responsible for actually paying the tax on business earnings, but are responsible for preparing annual partnership tax returns on IRS Form 1065.This return is for informational purposes only; all income, deductions and credits are reported by each individual owner. The LLC reports each owner's share of these amounts on a Schedule K-1 at the end of the year. In this situation, if Penelope, Mark and John earn $120,000 and have $60,000 of deductible business expenses, then each of them will receive a Schedule K-1 with $40,000 of earnings and $20,000 of deductions. Each of them must then report these figures on their personal income tax returns.Essentially, the business will increase their personal taxable income by $20,000. (LLC Tax Filing Rules ââ¬â Tax Basis in LLC Interest: In general, the initial tax basis of a member who acquires an LLC interest from the LLC will be equal to the amount of money and the tax basis of any property that the member contributes to the LLC in exchange for such interest. The tax basis thus determined will be increased by such member's share of the LLC's liabilities, by its share of the LLC's income, and by any subsequent capital contributions. The member's tax basis will be reduced (but not below zero) by the member's share of LLC distributions and losses and also by any decrease in such member's share of the LLC's liabilities. IRC à § 752 embodies the statutory rules for sharing LLC liabilities. That Section provides that any increase in a partner's share of a partnership's liabilities, or any increase in a partner's individual liabilities by reason of assuming a partnership's liabilities, will be considered a contribution of money by such partner to the partnership.Conversely, any decrease in a partner's share of a partnership's liabilities, or any decrease in a partner's individual liabilities by reason of a partnership assuming such liabilities, will be considered a distribution of money to the partner by the partnership. Unfortunately, the statute does not provide for the manner in which a partner's share of liabilities will be determined. Instead, one must look to the Regulations. (Federal Income Taxation of LLC Members ââ¬â http://www. mmmlaw. com/media-room/publications/articles/federal-income-taxation-of-llc-members)This last exception is the most important. In some circumstances, a court might say that the LLC doesnââ¬â¢t really exist and find that its owners are really doing business as individuals, who are personally liable for their acts (LLC Business Basics ââ¬â http://articles. bplans. com/small-business-legal-issues/llc-basics/186) Cited Sources: COMMON FORMS OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONà ââ¬â http://www. tulsascore. org/organization. html Types of Businessà Organizations: 6 Forms of Business for IRSà Purposes http://taxes. about. com/od/taxp lanning/a/incorporating_2. tm Which Type of Business Entity to Choose? http://www. mynewcompany. com/entity. htm Contributions to LLCs ââ¬â http://www. alberty. com/newsletter_summer01. html How LLC Members Are Taxed ââ¬â http://www. nolo. com/legal-encyclopedia/how-llcs-are-taxed-29675. html Tax Implications: LLC Versus S Corporations ââ¬â http://www. hutchlaw. com/library/tax-implications-llc-versus-s-corporations LLC & Asset Protection ââ¬â http://www. ehow. com/about_6563015_llc-asset-protection. html LLC Business Basics ââ¬â http://articles. bplans. com/small-business-legal-issues/llc-basics/186
